The Oyoko Royal Family and kingmakers in Enchi in the Aowin District of the newly created Western North region have successfully installed a new Paramount Chief for the traditional area.

The new chief was on Saturday, March 23, 2019, taken through the customary rituals of the area to signify his installation.

He replaces Odenehe Nana Brentu IV.

He is known in private life as Mr. Thomas Adjei. He is 38 years of age and based in the United Kingdom (UK). He holds a Masters Degree in Finance.

He was later carried on shoulders and taken through some principal streets in Enchi.

As custom and tradition of Aowin demands, the new chief would be outdoored and given a stool name on Tuesday, March, 30, 2019.

A mini durbar was subsequently organized at the forecourt of the Aowin Traditional Council where the new chief delivered a short speech.

Nana Manna Kwame expressed gratitude to the kingmakers and the people for the trust and confidence reposed in him. He entreated all the people Aowin to come together to develop the area.

Police officers from the Asankraguah Division were deployed to assist Enchi Police to provide security during the ceremony which ended peacefully.

In attendance were Aowin Traditional Council representatives led by Okyeame Panyin Cosmos Nsiah, Nana Oppong Payin III, Chief of Omanpe, Nana Adu Kwame, Chief of Nyankamam, ACP Mr. James Sarfo Peppra, Divisional Police Commander, Supt. Mr. Samuel Sandow Latebu, District Police Commander; ASP Mr. Emmanuel Kwabena Asante, Divisional Crime Officer; the District BNI Officer; elders from the nearby communities and the Media.  About 1,500 people from surrounding communities attended the function.

Several people from the Aowin area have expressed satisfaction in the development because according to them, the stool has been lying vacant for a number of years after the former chief died of old age.
