A trailer heading towards Pokuase direction on the Accra – Nsawam Highway Thursday morning veered off the main road unto the outer lane of the busy road.

According to eye witnesses, the incident which happened at Mile 7, saw the fully loaded truck ramming into the back of a mini passenger bus leaving the vehicle falling on its side.
The trailer is said to have failed its brakes, and in an attempt to prevent jamming into cars ahead of him, the driver decided to drive into the railings on the road to stop the vehicle.
No one has been confirmed dead, but eye witnesses say an unspecified number of injured people have been rushed to the hospital for medical care.
The accident has resulted in huge traffic jam creating discomfort for both drivers and passengers.

The police are at the scene to control affairs and see to the trailer being removed from the road to allow free flow of traffic.
