Brits were last night shocked after upcoming British rapper, slowthai held up an effigy of UK Prime minister, Boris Johnson's severed head on stage while performing during the Mercury awards ceremony at the Eventim Apollo in London.

Slowthai, who was also nominated for his album Nothing Great About Britain, but lost to London rapper Dave, wore a 'F*** Boris' T-shirt decorated with lewd images of the Prime Minister, held up the provocative effigy and then shouted: 'F*** Boris Johnson. F*** everything'.

The rapper swore before he started rapping and then spat on the stage floor before carrying out the effigy at the end of the show.

BBC who were livestreaming the show, immediately cut of his performance, and then the rapper immediately after the performance took to Twitter to promote a £25 'F*** Boris' T-shirt along with another lewd picture of Boris Johnson.

Slowthai has previously blasted former UK Prime minister, Theresa May in his songs and urged his followers to target her with the social media hashtag #brexitbandit.

The lewd and disgusting act was criticized by Brits on soial media while some saw it as an unnecessary PR stunt.
