The Black Meteors of Ghana have departed for Egypt where they will play in the Caf Afcon U-23 nations cup that will start on on the 8-22 November 2019.

Ghana has been placed in group A alongside host nation Egypt, Mali and Cameroon.

Coach Ibrahim Tanko on Friday named his 21 man squad for the tournament with predominantly foreign based players dominating the roster.

Although he will miss key players most of them foreign based who helped the team during qualifiers like Majeed Ashimeru,Gideon Mensah, Osman Bukari, Dauda Mohammed, Bernard Tekpetey, Joseph Paintsil, Isaac Twum and Dauda Mohammed.

Ghana will open the tournament with a match against Cameroon on the opening day before facing host nation Egypt three days later before playing Mali 14th November.

The Black Meteor will hope to be a part of the first three nations that will qualify for the Olympic games in Tokyo 2020.
