Premier private radio station in Techiman Classic FM on Wednesday December 26, 2018 reached out to orphans and widows in the locality.
The event, dubbed Agyanka bɛwe akokɔ [which literally means the orphan shall eat chicken], is an annual event organised by the radio station to put smile on the faces of the young poor ones and widows on Christmas season.
The people, numbered about 600 converged at the forecourt of the radio station to receive their freebies.
They were presented with various products such as fowl, rice, cooking oil, biscuits, drinks, cloths and footwears.
Two widows, Madam Hannah Adubia, a 70-year-old farmer, and Eva Prempeh, a 45-year-old hairdresser were full of joy as they expressed their appreciation to Classic FM for the kind gesture and honour done them.
Popular presenter of the station, who spearheads and cordinates the event, Oheneni Ama Korankye Adazoa in an exclusive interview, told The Ghana Guardian's editor - Eric Nana Prekoh that; the event has come to stay as according to her, Classic FM will continue to distinguish itself with its corporate social responsibility activities aimed at changing the lives of the less-privileged in society.
The multiple award winner, expressed her deepest appreciation to individuals, churches, other corperate entities who presented the items and cash donations to make this year's program a successful one.
