A group of disgruntled football supporters staged a protest on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, against the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and its leadership.

The protest was organized by a group calling itself the Ghana Football Stakeholders Forum.

Led by Abraham Boakye (One-man Supporter) and Charles Ntim (Mickey Charles), the group expressed their dissatisfaction with the current state of Ghanaian football and its lack of progress.

The protest took place just one day before the GFA elections. The protesters marched through the streets of Accra, passing by the GFA office in the city before proceeding to present a petition to the Minister of Youth and Sports.

During the protest, participants displayed placards with various messages. Some of the messages on the placards included "Kurt go away," "Football is not politics," "FIFA and CAF must speak now," and "Sports Minister act now."

The protest comes amid controversy surrounding the GFA elections and the disqualification of George Afriyie, a former vice president of the Ghana FA, who was seeking to unseat incumbent GFA president Kurt Okraku.

Afriyie was disqualified for failing to provide the required number of GFA members to endorse his candidacy. He has since filed an application for an injunction to halt the presidential election and is contesting his disqualification at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

Additionally, Ghanaian club King Faisal, led by its owner Alhaji Karim Grunsah, has also filed a separate injunction to stop the GFA elections.
