Out-going president, John Dramani Mahama on Tuesday January 3 2017, held his last cabinet meeting.

Mahama is yet to hand over his seat to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the president-elect.

Nana Addo soon would be sworn in as the president of Ghana on Saturday, 7th January 2017 at the Black Star square in Accra.

He polled 53.85% to 44.43% of popular votes to emerge as President-elect and the 5th President of the Fourth Republic.

Eleven other Heads of State from some African and European countries and some top diplomats are expected in the country Friday ahead of Saturday’s programme.

About 5,000 security officers will be detailed at the inauguration ceremony.
