A man believed to be in his late 20s is battling for his life after being subjected to gruesome machete attacks at Nyankpala in the Northern Region for allegedly stealing a sheep.

The man, identified only as Wahab, a local, was found Tuesday morning near the Avnash Rice Company on the Nyankpala road in a pool of blood with several deep machete wounds on his body, particularly on his head and hands.

An eyewitness said at the time of his discovery, the victim was palpitating intermittently.

The alleged sheep the victim stole had been leashed to his torched motorbike on which he was travelling towards Tamale.

The eyewitness said the “man is almost dead due to the excessive bleeding”, adding that “I don’t think he will survive”.
