The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has held a remembrance and vigil night to honour the memory of the late Member of Parliament for the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency, Hon. Emmanuel Kyeremateng Agyarko, ahead of his burial and final funeral rites.
The National Organizer of the party, Sammy Awuku has said that, yesterday was a very difficult day for them as a party, adding that the days ahead will be more difficult for them as a party as they pay their last respect to the memory of the late Hon. Agyarko.
"For me, I am very sad but, it is well,” he stated.
Speaking on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' programme, Mr. Awuku expressed his appreciation and gratitude to party leaders and faithfuls for their support and loyalty in taking part in the event.
"It was such an eventful program and I believe the spirit of the late Hon. Agyarko will be at peace."
“We arranged over 4,000 chairs and they were filled to capacity and even had some people standing,” he said.
In attendance were the 2nd lady, Madam Samira Bawumia, Chief of Staff Madam Frema Opare, also in attendance were the Speaker of Parliament, Prof. Mike Oquaye, the party’s parliamentary candidate for the upcoming bye-election at the constituency, National Officers of the party, Ministers of State, Members of Parliament, MMDCEs and other government appointees as well as scores of party loyalists.
Mr. Awuku, however, revealed that the mortal remains of the late Kyeremanteng Agyarko will be taken to the party’s head quarters then to the regional office, to the constituency’s office through Abelemkpe, American House and Bawleshie to allow the constituents and Ghanaians pay their last respect to the late MP.
