As part of its flagship Citizenship Week celebration, the Sekyere Central Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has visited some schools within the District to inculcate into the young citizenry the spirit of patriotism and nationalism.

Pupils and students were advised and sensitized on the tenets of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana with particular emphasis on Directive Principles of State Policies (Article 41).

They were advised to protect and Safeguard the Constitution at all times, safeguard and protect the environment, protect public property and respect national symbols.

The resource person was the Assembly Member for Amoamang Electoral Area who doubles as the Sekyere Central District Coordinator for MASLOC, Hon. Foster Kwarteng.

Also were the staff of the Commission in the person of Gordon Yeboah Opoku (DD), Mr. Michael Ofori Benefor (SCEO), Mrs. Georgina Amoako (CEO) as well as Mr. Samuel Heinz Tuffour-Bio (ACEO).

In a related development, the Directorate inspected ongoing Social Auditing intervention projects initiated by the Sekyere Central District Assembly at Amoamang community, where a temporary KVIP has been completed.

The team also inspected an ongoing pipe-borne water project.

The inspection of the projects was done with the help of the Assembly Member, Nananom and the Unit Committee Chairman.
