Hon. Isaac Kwame Asiamah (MP) has led a delegation to inspect one of the ten (10) Youth and Sports Centres of Excellence at Dormaa Ahenkro.
The Sector Minister was accompanied by the Minister for Health and Member of Parliament (MP) for Dormaa Central, Hon. kwaku Agyemang Manu, Director General of the National Sports Authority(NSA), Professor Peter Twumasi, Technical Advisor to the Minister, Dr. Emmanuel Owusu-Ansah, CEO of Green Grass Technology among others.
Hon. Asiamah was impressed with the quality of work and announced that the project will help develop talents at the grassroots level. He therefore entreated the contractor to work extra hard to complete the centre on time.
"Ghana has been serving the world over the years when it comes to sports and it is one of the reasons why we won the bid to host the 2023 African Games.
We have put all the necessary arrangements in place as far as the African Games is concerned", the sector Minister noted.
The Member of Parliament for Dormaa Central, Hon. Kwaku Agyemang Manu expressed his satisfaction and stated that the edifice will also serve as a job centre and a place for people to exercise weekly as a way of keeping themselves fit.
"We are looking forward to hosting the African University Games in future" the MP stated.
The Contractor, Mr. Prince Baidoo assured the Sector Minister to work effectively and efficiently to ensure that it is completed on time.
