International Award winning Ghanaian songstress, Noella Wiyaala, has had a street named after her in the hometown.

The Wiyaala Street was named after her by the Sissala people of Funsi, the capital of Wa East District in a remote part of the Upper West Region of Ghana in honour of her achievements in the music sector.

The internationally acclaimed singer excitedly shared the news with her fans on facebook.

She wrote; “My people said they had a surprise for me. Little did I know. #WIYAALA#STREET. To the people of #FUNSI #SISAALA land. My village, My home town am honoured!.Thank you.”

Wiyaala is the second musician in Ghana to have a street named after her following Stonebwoy who was named after a street in Ashaiman where he grew up.

The 31 year old singer who has had an amazing career ever since winning the 2012 edition of Vodafone Icons has headlined the International shows including the 15th London African Music Festival in London.
