A massive crowd welcomed Multiple award winning Afrobeat Artiste, Fancy Gadam when he returned to his base, Tamale following his triumphant win at the just ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) held at the Accra International Conference Center.

Thousands of people filled the streets of Tamale to welcome him home for making the town proud.

Gadam beat Patapa, Ebony, KiDi, Kuami Eugene, Shatta Wale, Patapaa, Joe Mettle, Captain Planet, Magnom, King Promise and Sarkodie to win the most popular song award.

He also won ‘Hiplife Song of the Year’ and ‘Song of the Year’ with his song ‘Total Cheat’, which featured rapper Sarkodie.

On his arrival, 'the pride of the North', paid a courtesy call on two Kings in the Tamale Kingdom, Gukpenaa and Dakpema to express gratitude for their support.

The streets of Tamale were chocked with fans, several motor riders and drummers to welcome their son after his success at the most prestigious music awards in Ghana.
