A man believed to be in his 50s has committed suicide at Ekumfi Swedru near Mankesim in the Central Region.

The man whose name remains unknown was found hanging on a tree in a bush in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

An eye witness who spoke to Adom News’ Kofi Adjei said the deceased is not known in the town; however they are not sure what might have triggered the dastardly act.

On his part, the Assembly man for Ekumfi Akwakrom electoral area, Emmanuel Gyasi said he suspects the man was killed in a different town and later dumped in the bush.

According to him, they had a distress call that a man has committed suicide and upon reaching the bush they had the shock of their life as they saw the lifeless body of the man dangling loosely on a tree in the bush.

He said they ran quickly to the town to inform the police who are yet to report to the scene.
The police are yet to deposit the body to the morgue.
