English Championship side Plymouth Argyle and Austrian Bundesliga club LASK Linz have reportedly expressed strong interest in signing Michael Baidoo from Swedish Allsvenskan team IF Elfsborg during the current summer transfer window.
The in-form Ghanaian international could make a move from the Boraas Arena before the transfer window closes on Friday, with several top European clubs showing interest.
Baidoo, who has been a standout player in the Swedish league, has also caught the attention of Leicester City and Southampton due to his exceptional performances over the past two seasons.
According to Swedish newspaper Sportbladet, both LASK Linz and Plymouth Argyle have submitted offers to IF Elfsborg for the 25-year-old midfielder.
LASK Linz is reportedly leading the race with the highest bid among the interested clubs.
Baidoo has been a key figure for IF Elfsborg, contributing 10 goals and seven assists in 26 appearances across all competitions this season.
However, with interest from other clubs mounting, he is not expected to feature in IF Elfsborg's UEFA Europa League qualification playoff second-leg match against Molde BK on Thursday.
Baidoo's contract with IF Elfsborg extends until the summer of 2027, and his current market value is estimated at around €3 million, according to Transfermarkt.
As the transfer window approaches its final days, the competition to secure Baidoo's signature is heating up, with LASK Linz and Plymouth Argyle leading the pack in pursuit of the talented Ghanaian midfielder.
