The Ghana Police Service has confirmed the arrest of a second suspect in connection with the brutal killing of a police officer at Zebilla in the Upper East Region, as investigations gather momentum.

In an official update, police disclosed that Abdul Aziz Iddrisu, popularly known as Baaluuse, was arrested on February 17 following a carefully coordinated, intelligence-driven operation.

The suspect was traced to a hideout at Polego, a suburb of Bolgatanga, where officers moved in and effected the arrest.

During the operation, police retrieved three mobile phones, which investigators believe may hold crucial information linked to the crime.

The devices are currently undergoing forensic examination as authorities reconstruct the sequence of events surrounding the deadly attack.

Police also revealed that the suspect has been connected to videos circulating on social media, in which he is allegedly seen brandishing weapons believed to be associated with criminal activities in the area.

As a result, a parallel operation has been launched to locate and retrieve the suspected weapons.

The suspect remains in custody and is cooperating with investigators, while security agencies continue efforts to track down other individuals thought to have played roles in the attack.

The Police have assured the public of their commitment to bringing all perpetrators to justice and indicated that further updates will be provided as investigations progress.
