The Ghana Police Service has rolled out nationwide security measures to ensure a safe and incident-free celebration of this year’s Easter festivities.

In a press release issued by its Public Affairs Directorate on April 2, 2026, the Service said personnel have been strategically deployed to key locations across the country, with special focus on the Kwahu enclave, a major hub for Easter celebrations.

“Robust security measures have been put in place to ensure a safe, peaceful, and incident-free celebration,” the statement said.

Increased presence at key locations


According to the police, officers have been stationed at event grounds, recreational centres, tourist sites and other high-traffic areas expected to attract large crowds.

Security has also been intensified along major routes leading to and from Kwahu, with increased patrols and operational teams deployed to enhance safety during the period.

Motor traffic personnel have additionally been assigned to manage vehicular movement and reduce congestion.

Safety advisory to the public


The police urged motorists to comply with road safety regulations, cautioning against reckless driving.
“Motorists are urged to observe road traffic regulations, avoid excessive speeding, refrain from drink-driving and take directions from our officers,” the statement noted.

Intelligence operations activated


The Service further indicated that intelligence-led operations have been activated nationwide to prevent and respond swiftly to any criminal activity.

Members of the public have been encouraged to remain vigilant, cooperate with security personnel and report suspicious activities to the nearest police station.

“We also encourage all patrons to be mindful of their personal safety and belongings,” the statement added.

The police reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining law and order throughout the festive period, wishing all citizens a safe and enjoyable Easter celebration.
