A timely intervention by the Obuasi Divisional Command of the Ghana Police Service has thwarted a robbery attempt on the Tutuka-Akrofuom road in Obuasi, leading to the arrest of one suspect.
The Police received a distress call reporting suspicious activity in the area.

Upon reaching the scene, officers encountered a gang of armed robbers who fled into the bush, abandoning two unregistered motorbikes and a machete.
In the ensuing pursuit, one suspect—identified as Pascal Yenkye—was apprehended after he attempted to flee on one of the motorbikes. He sustained a gunshot wound to the leg during the operation and is currently receiving treatment under police guard.

Efforts are underway to track down the remaining members of the gang.
The Ghana Police Service has reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the public and ensuring law and order across the country.
