Former Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Bernard Allotey Jacobs has advised the party to step in to ensure Felix Kwakye Ofosu wins the Abura/Asebu/Kwamankese Constituency seat come 2020.

He argued that the former Deputy Minister of Communications will find it difficult to win at the 2020 general elections since he was unable to convincingly win the parliamentary primaries in the constituency.

Mr Allotey Jacobs hence advised the NDC top hierarchy to move to the constituency to 'massage the ground' to help Mr Kwakye-Ofosu secure the seat.

The NDC communicator polled 360 votes to beat seven other aspirants.

His closest challenger who was highly tipped to win,  Dr Nana Ama Brown Klutse polled 327 votes.

The other contenders; Mr Kwaku Kakamu Aggrey polled 201, Francis Eduafo Mensah polled 118, Pious Essandoh polled 94 votes, John Kojo Tawiah Hayford, 20, Thomas Peppeh 35 while Amos Arhin had 20 votes.

Speaking on PeaceFM, Mr Allotey Jacobs said the NDC party must wary of the parliamentary candidate of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

"People moved from Accra to go and support Kwakye Ofosu . . . if you look at the vote margin, you will realize that it was very competitive. Ofosu Kwakye is a name, he has established his name and he is one of the best communicators the NDC has, then comes a lady (Dr Nana Ama Brown Klutse) who is a Scientist and when you look at the vote margin, you cannot say Kwakye Ofosu won massively . . . so leaders from the national headquarters should move in quickly to massage the grounds. They should do a good work because popularity does not count in the Central region. The NPP candidate there is very popular; NDC has a lot of work to do (in the constituency)," he said
