PRESIDENT NANA Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo says he wants to go into history as one of Ghana’s all-time best leaders.

He also disclosed that he would want to attain that enviable feat together with the overlord of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo osei Tutu II.

According to the president, he and Otumfuo are from the Oyoko clan; and that it was his desire that the two of them would work hand in hand to develop the country.

“It is my desire that I and Otumfuo, who is the head of the Oyoko clan, of which I am proud member, worked closely to develop Ghana.

“I want the two of us to enter into the history books. Future generations will say that some time ago, two prominent people changed the face of our country.

“They will say that it was during a time that the Asantehene and the president, who are both from the Oyoko clan, worked to properly develop Ghana”.

President Akufo-Addo, who was speaking at the Manhyia Palace, expressed the hope that his heart’s desire would come to pass.

He described the Asantehene as a development-oriented traditional leader, who commands a lot of power and respect in the country and beyond, and entreated the citizenry to rally behind the two of them to lead the country to prosperity.
