President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has nominated Mr. Razak Awudulai as the Managing Director of the GO Energy Company Limited, a subsidiary of GOIL Company Limited.

This nomination was done through the Ministry of Energy, Boakye Agyarko, in a letter dated June 27, 2018, signed to confirm Mr. Awudulai’s nomination.

The letter in part further requested the Board of Ghana Oil Company Limited to kindly to take the necessary steps to regularize Mr. Awudulai’s appointment as the MD of GO Energy Company Limited in accordance with the relevant portions of the Companies Act, 1963 (Act 179).

Profile

Razak Awudulai has significant public and private sector experiences in managerial capacity.

Between 2005 and 2009, he served as the youngest Municipal Chief Executive (Mayor) of Kintampo, the city located in the geographical centre of Ghana.

As Mayor, he directed the affairs of a municipality with about 160,000 population, provided leadership and managerial responsibilities to 20 line departments, 200 core staff and 500 allied employees.

He has also worked as Management Consultant for Accenture, Aberdeen Energy Hub, Aberdeen, UK, where he played a key role in successfully developing new contracting models and strategies for the United Kingdom Continental Shelve decommissioning market.

He is currently providing consultancy and advisory support services to the Government of South Sudan including; setting up a Home Finance Bank to help address the housing needs of the world newest nation; developing a software to automate University admissions in the country and providing advisory services to Nile Petroleum Corporation (NILEPET), the National Oil Company of South Sudan in a establishing a local content fund to support indigenous Small & Medium size Enterprises (SMEs) engaged in the business of providing oil and gas services in the country’s upstream sector.

He is an adjunct lecturer at the Ghana Technology University/Coventry University UK, postgraduate collaborative programme and a Director of ACAP Company Limited.

Razak holds a Masters in Business Administration from Aberdeen Business School, Scotland and is a member of Association of MBAs (AMBA), Chartered Management Institute (CMI), UK, and Public Private Partnership trained of the Institute for Public Private Partnership International, Washington, DC.
