Prof. Kobby Mensah, CEO of the Ghana Tourism Development Company, has hit back at the Minority in Parliament following their recent critique of the NDC government’s economic management, particularly the Bank of Ghana’s Gold-for-Reserves (G4R) programme.

In a pointed post on X, Prof. Mensah dismissed the Minority’s comments as “all talk without practical solutions,” challenging their track record during previous administrations.

“Which of your ‘old’ ideas reduced the pound sterling from 23 cedis to 14? The dollar from 16 cedis to 11? Or brought fuel down from 20 cedis per litre to 10.37? Talk, Talk Party,” he wrote.

The Minority, led by former Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, had called for a bipartisan parliamentary inquiry into the alleged $214 million loss under the G4R programme. At a recent press conference, Oppong Nkrumah accused the government of relying on recycled policies and lacking fresh economic strategies.

“The truth about this government is that they have not introduced any superior economic ideas. All they have been doing is rebranding, renaming old things and sometimes even hiding the details until we, the Minority, bring them to the public’s attention,” he said, further questioning the government’s post-IMF plans after mid-2026.

Prof. Mensah’s response underscores the ongoing tension between the NDC government and the Minority over economic policy and the handling of public finances.

If you want, I can also rework this into a sharper, more punchy version suitable for social media or headlines.
