Ghanaian winger Prosper Kassim delivered a standout performance for Birmingham Legion FC, though his team fell 3-1 to Rhode Island FC in their USL Championship clash.
The match, held at Protective Stadium, saw Rhode Island take an early lead when Noah Fuson scored in the first minute with a left-footed shot from the right side of the box, assisted by Albert Dikwa.
Birmingham Legion FC fought back in the second half. Kassim, showcasing his skill, scored a stunning left-footed goal in the 50th minute, capitalizing on a swift counter-attack with an assist from Dawson McCartney.
However, Rhode Island regained control with two goals from Zach Herivaux.
His first goal came in the 68th minute with a right-footed shot from the center of the box, assisted by JJ Williams.
Herivaux's second was a powerful right-footed strike from outside the box, set up by Stephen Turnbull.
Kassim, who was substituted in the 78th minute, continues to be a vital player for Birmingham Legion FC this season, having featured in 18 games, scored twice, and provided one assist.
Fellow Ghanaian Mensah Nyarko replaced Jake Rufe for Birmingham Legion FC in the 78th minute.
