Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Ogum has stressed the importance of their recent win against DC United in the Capital City Africa Cup held in Washington, USA.

The team faced significant challenges due to visa issues, preventing the full squad from traveling.

As a result, a Ghana Week DC Select Side, featuring five Kotoko players, was formed and managed to secure a 2-1 victory over the Major League Soccer (MLS) side.

Reflecting on the match, Ogum said, "It is very important because playing against a side like DC United, a very big team, is good for us and good for the future of the team."

Now back in Ghana, Kotoko is shifting focus to the Ghana Premier League, where they currently sit second with 11 points and a game in hand.

The Porcupine Warriors are determined to capitalize on the momentum from their international experience as they prepare for their upcoming domestic fixtures, aiming to push for the league's top spot.
