Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has acknowledged the upcoming Ghana Premier League encounter against FC Samartex will be a tough challenge, but he remains focused on securing all three points.

The Porcupine Warriors will return to league action this weekend against Samartex, following a brief break, and are determined to maintain their unbeaten streak.

With three wins and two draws from their first five games, Kotoko currently sits second on the table with 11 points, just behind the leaders.

Speaking ahead of Sunday’s clash, Coach Ogum praised the structure and style of their opponents but stressed that his team is fully prepared and confident about the task ahead.

"I think Samartex is a very good side. A well-structured side. In terms of their arrangements on the field, you see that they have a structure and a style. They are a good side," Ogum noted.

However, Ogum expressed confidence in his players’ ability to rise to the occasion, particularly with home advantage playing in their favor at the Len Clay Stadium.

"We just have to be confident, we have to be determined, and we have to be composed. We are playing at home. The support will be behind us."

Ogum added that his squad must believe in themselves to deliver the desired result: "The players have to believe that it is doable. We are confident, and I believe that we can get the job done."

The match between Asante Kotoko and FC Samartex is scheduled for Sunday, October 20, at 15:00 GMT at the Len Clay Stadium, as the Porcupine Warriors aim to continue their strong start to the season.
