The installation of digital address plates on all 7.5 million houses and properties across the country by government, has reached the Kumbungu constituency and former MP for the area, Ras Mubarak has expressed his contentment with the development.

Mr. Mubarak has also showered praises on the Vice PreVice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for the initiative.

In a Facebook post sighted by Ghanaguardian.com, he wrote: "Ok. My constituency is getting digital address. We give credit where credit is due. Kudos Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia."

The exercise was first started in the Adenta Municipality in the Greater Accra Region, on Monday, April 12, 2021.

The new addressing system which leverages the existing GhanaPost GPS system is made up of a unique house number, street name, digital address, and a QR Code containing the address details of the property.

The address plates are being embossed free of charge for all properties.

It will provide a rich and unique database for all properties in Ghana, which, combined with data from the Ghana Card, will inform policy formulation and implementation in the country's digitization drive.
