Austrian Bundesliga side RB Salzburg have officially announced the signing of Ghanaian youngster Edmund Baidoo, a highly promising midfielder who has penned a five-year contract with the club.
The 18-year-old joins Salzburg from Norwegian side Sogndal IL after an impressive stint in Norway.
Salzburg reportedly paid €3.3 million, with an additional €1.2 million in potential add-ons, to acquire the services of Baidoo.
The teenager has caught the eye this season with 10 goal involvements in 18 starts in the Norwegian First Division, alongside five goals and assists in three cup appearances.
Baidoo's rapid rise began when he joined Sogndal IL in March 2024 from AsanSka Football Club, a Division Two side in Ghana.
His outstanding performances quickly attracted interest from several top clubs, including two Premier League teams.
However, the versatile attacker has chosen Salzburg as his next step, aiming to develop his career further in European football.
