It was awfully 'refreshing' reading a press statement with the above title signed by National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party, Henry Nana Boakye. The warp logic and the bankruptcy of the thought the NPP National Youth Organizer wants to foist on levelheaded Ghanaians, and the confidence with which he presented it, is another confirmation of Joy FM's description of him as 'substandard' and unfit to be a panelist on some of their highly intellectual political talk shows.

In the first paragraph of the Nana B's disjointed statement, he accused John Mahama and Joshua Hamidu Akamba ''of inciting students in various SHS against Government's Free SHS policy". Just after this paragraph, Nana B changed John Mahama and Joshua Akamba's offense to the duo been "seen in these viral videos making highly political statements which seek to ridicule the free SHS program and court disaffection for government".

It is clear that Nana B, if only he authored that statement himself, does not know the points he wants to canvass to nail those he is seeking to punch. In one instance, John and Akamba incited students, then in another instance, they sought to ridicule the free SHS. A free SHS that awhile ago did not need "review" could be ridiculed to make government unpopular?

Again, in the first paragraph, Nana B said John and Akamba incited students in "various SHS" meanwhile the title of his own press statement mentioned only Tempane SHS as the institution where John and Akamba supposedly made the "reckless and shameful" comments. Aren't we above this roadside theatrics?

Beyond these preliminary issues, it is important we subject the statement to test. He says GES Regulations do not allow "active partisan politics on campuses of pre-tertiary education schools". What Nana B failed to see in the video that captured John Mahama and the students was that, the former President did no formal arrangement to meet the students on their campus. It was an ambush sort of thing. In the case of Akamba, he was at the school premises. It will be highly laughable for any reasonable person to clasify what John and Akamba said as "active partisan politics".

What Akamba said would not be too different from parents who visit their children in schools under the free SHS and complain about the challenges and difficulties their children are facing. If you substitute Akamba with the father of any of the children in the video, will Nana B and his minions still consider the statement as "active partisan politics"?

It is highly illogical for Nana B to be ok when the President, Ministers and government spokespersons stand before SHS students and trumpet the supposed success of the free SHS, but upset when others engage SHS students on the challenges facing the policy. Nana B has soon forgotten that the take off of the SHS policy and all the supposed goodies that comes with was annouced by President Akufo Addo at the 60th anniversary of Okuapeman SHS. Was the President engaged in "active partisan politics" when he undertook that exercise.

Maybe Nana B is one the NPP top brass with short memory. In 2016, Dr Bawumia travelled all the way to Kperisi Primary School and told the pupils how incentive the John Mahama government was to their plight. This was because the pupils were studying on the floor. He subsequently donated 250 desks to the school. Did this act constituted "active partisan politics on pre-tertiary education school"?

Nana B says GES must crack the whip! He failed to tell us who the whip should be cracked on. Probably he has part two of his statement in the offing. That may reveal who the whip is meant for. But in all honesty, Nana B must know that he won his election because NPP delegates had no option than to chose him ahead of his opponents because he was the the best among his peers even though on the "large" scale he does not exhibits the intellectual appeal to lead a youth front of any serious political party. He must not carry himself as someone who can stand any intellectual debate, hence his victory over his peera. He must desist from signing such logically dead and intellectually bankrupt statements to prove his importance in Youth activism.
