Austrian Bundesliga giants Red Bull Salzburg have reached an agreement to sign Ghanaian rising star Edmund Baidoo from Norwegian club Sogndal IF during the ongoing summer transfer window.

The highly-skilled 18-year-old winger is poised to complete his move to the Wals-Siezenheim-based club before the European transfer window closes on Friday.

According to renowned football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Salzburg will secure Baidoo's services for a transfer fee of €3.3 million, with an additional €1.2 million in potential add-ons.

The young attacker is scheduled to undergo a mandatory medical examination in the coming hours before finalizing a long-term contract with the Bundesliga powerhouse.

Baidoo joined Sogndal IF in February 2024 from Ghanaian lower-tier side AsanSka Football Club and has quickly made a significant impact.

His impressive performances in the Norwegian First Division have caught the attention of multiple top-flight European clubs, including two Premier League sides.

However, Baidoo has chosen Salzburg as the next step in his career development.

This season, Baidoo has been in outstanding form, contributing to 10 goals in 19 league appearances for Sogndal IF, alongside five goals and assists in three cup games.

His move to Salzburg is expected to further his growth as he joins one of Europe's most renowned clubs for nurturing young talent.
