The incumbent member of Parliament for the Odododiodio constituency and parliamentary candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye has been released after he was arrested by the police at Modak Hotel where he was lodging in the wee hours of Tuesday.

There was no reasons for his arrest but upon his release from custody he says that the police accused him for the possession of  firearm which he claims belonged to one of his boys.

Although the EC has not declared the results yet but all indications points to another victory for the incumbent Nii Lantey Vanderpuye.

Speaking after his release in an interview with GH ONE's Kwaku Temeng monitored by Ghanaguardian,com, he revealed that after his next parliamentary term, he will be looking at going for the NDC Presidential candidate as he believes God is preparing something bigger for him than the parliamentary seat.

He was in the said hotel with his family allegedly for safe keeping before he was arrested from the hotel.

Two other persons were also arrested and sent to the Central Police Station for interrogation.
One person was killed in the scuffle with the police in the area.
