Former Ghana goalkeeper Richard Kingson has revealed that captain Asamoah Gyan’s infamous penalty Miss in2010 made him lose focus.

Now goalkeeper’s trainer for the Black Stars, Kingson claims the crucial miss had him blacked out for a short while and even wanted to be subbed off before the penalty shoot-outs in the same match.

Asamoah Gyan missed a penalty kick that could have sent Ghana through to the last four of the World Cup in 2010.

“When we got the penalty I don’t know something spoke to me and said no hold your heart. So I had to turn my face and face the crowd for some seconds then I turned to watch the penalty,” he said

“So when he missed the penalty is like, I had a black out I didn’t  know what was going. I didn’t see anybody on the on the field.

“So I was down, and I was thinking about my life and I said what’s happening to me because I don’t understand.”

“So during the penalty shootout I wasn’t myself and I was not concentrating, I was somewhere else and I wanted to tell the coach to change me but it was too late.” He added
