Saddick Adams saves himself from Hearts attack
24th July 2019
Ashanti Gold striker Saddick Adams has swiftly swerved vitriolic attacks from Hearts of oak fans after his Facebook post was misconstrued.
Adams became a victim of unprofessional journalism after his "general statement" calling on clubs to pay more attention to the player welfare was misdirected to Accra Hearts of oak.
“Just because people are making so much positive comments on branding doesn’t mean you should focus on that more than the players welfare”…Focus on the players welfare and what you can make them become or what they can become in the near future without begging…We don’t eat branding
Despite not mentioning name of any club, the former kotoko hitman became a subject of verbal attacks following reports by some media portals that his comment was a jab to the phobians.
some portals had carried the misconstrued report with images from Hearts of oak's ongoing umbro sales campaign.
But in a bid to save his reputation from some more vitriolic Phobians, the 2017 FA Cup has rubbished the reports, which could have made matters worse for him.
”i made a general statement. I was not referring to Hearts of Oak. I have been misquoted. I didn’t mention any club in my post” he told FootballMadeInGhana.comindirect.
He however could not open up on how many Ghanaian football players have turned into beggars but says it was a clarion call on clubs not to only focus on branding but to also ensure the welfare of their players.
