Augustine Boakye, the Ghanaian attacking midfielder for Saint-Étienne, recently opened up about his commitment to assisting teammates and supporting his striker’s success on the field.

Having joined the French club on a four-year contract in July, the 23-year-old emphasized his playmaking philosophy, which centers on providing scoring opportunities to boost team confidence.

"I am a number 10 that loves to assist," Boakye told Flashscore. "I especially love assisting my striker because when he scores more, it boosts the entire team’s confidence.

I see the striker as the main man, so if he’s not scoring and feels frustrated, it impacts everyone."

Boakye credits Black Stars legend Sulley Muntari as a major influence, admiring his fearless style and resilience—a quality Boakye is eager to mirror as he develops his game.

Since joining Saint-Étienne, he has made five appearances this season.

Although he has yet to register a goal or assist, Boakye’s proven track record at WAFA and Wolfsberger suggests Saint-Étienne fans could soon witness his full playmaking potential.
