Multiple award winning reggae/dancehall artiste, Samini, has made history as the first African artiste to win the "Album of the Year" at Reggaeville.

He received the highest number of votes in a poll conducted by ReggaeVille, the biggest gathering of reggae lovers on the internet.

The album released on his birthday last year December 22, 2018 and debuted at number 8 on the Billboard World Music Chart.

The 2006 MOBO award winner beat stiff competition from the likes of Stephen Marley, Protoje, Kabaka Pyramid, Mr. Vegas, Agent Sasco, Ziggy Marley and Spice to win the top prize.

Reggaeville announced the winner on the website and wrote: "And the winner is... Samini with UntamedSamini hails from Ghana. He has released seven albums since 2004, he won Best African Act at the MOBO Awards 2006 and the MTV Africa Music Award as Best Performer 2009. Just to mention a few of his numerous awards. The 37 year old who has been actively doing music since 1999 has won several International Awards in the past including MOBO (Best African Act), Channel O Music Video Awards, The Headies, MTV Africa Music Awards, among others.
