Samsung Galaxy M-series marks a big change for the Korean giant which has otherwise relied on its Galaxy J and Galaxy On phones to compete with Xiaomi’s Redmi phones. Galaxy M-series brings a new design language for Samsung’s budget phones. Samsung Galaxy M also includes bigger battery and faster processor.
The first smartphones under Samsung Galaxy M-series are Galaxy M10 and Galaxy M20. As the name implies, Samsung Galaxy M10 belongs to the lower-tier and is available at a starting price of Rs 7,990. Galaxy M20 takes on the likes of Realme 2 Pro and Redmi Note 6 Pro with better specifications and is available at a starting price of Rs 10,990.
Let’s take a closer look at the new Samsung Galaxy smartphones
Samsung Galaxy M10 vs Samsung Galaxy M20: Design
Samsung Galaxy M10 and Galaxy M20 look exactly like each other. But there are subtle differences. For instance, Samsung Galaxy M20 has a fingerprint sensor on the back whereas Galaxy M10 skips the feature altogether.
Another noticeable difference is the placement of speaker grilles. On M20, it’s bottom-facing, sitting next to USB port. On M10, it’s on the south of rear panel. Galaxy M20 has a slightly larger screen and a bigger 5,000mAh battery. It also is heavier than Galaxy M10 which houses a smaller 3,400mAh battery.
Other than these, Samsung Galaxy M10 are almost identical. Both have a glossy glass-like finish on the back. Dual-rear camera module is located on the top left corner with Samsung branding at the centre. On the front, both have Infinity-V display, which looks like a modified version of waterdrop notches seen on several other Android phones.
