Samsung’s QLED TVs achieve 'Real Quantum Dot Display' certification from TÜV Rheinland, reaffirming their global leadership in premium TV technology with unparalleled colour accuracy and eco-friendly innovation.

Samsung QLED TVs Secures Prestigious 'Real Quantum Dot Display' Certification

Samsung Electronics has reinforced its global dominance in the premium television market with the announcement that its latest range of QLED TVs has been awarded the coveted "Real Quantum Dot Display" certification by TÜV Rheinland, the internationally renowned testing and certification body based in Germany.

The certification recognises Samsung’s adherence to the highest global standards for Quantum Dot display technology, solidifying the company's status as a pioneer in high-end visual experiences.

TÜV Rheinland Endorses Samsung’s Quantum Dot Innovation

As part of a rigorous testing process, TÜV Rheinland evaluated Samsung’s QLED TVs against the International Electrotechnical Commission's (IEC) IEC 62595-1-6 standard, which sets the benchmark for Quantum Dot display construction. This standard mandates the integration of Quantum Dot light units alongside blue light sources, a hallmark of authentic QLED displays.

The evaluation included a comprehensive analysis of the light spectrum emitted by Samsung's QLED panels. TÜV Rheinland confirmed a clear separation between red, green, and blue wavelengths — a key indicator of superior colour accuracy. This vivid distinction, powered by Samsung's Quantum Dot technology, sets the brand apart from displays that rely on alternative materials, which often suffer from colour blending and reduced clarity.

Samsung QLED TVs Redefining Colour Precision and Consumer Confidence

The latest certification provides official recognition that Samsung’s QLED TVs deliver true-to-life colours and exceptional visual performance, aligning with the company’s commitment to setting new industry benchmarks.

"This certification objectively proves that Samsung's QLED TVs offer true performance with Quantum Dot, built to international standards," said Taeyong Son, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display Division at Samsung Electronics. "We will continue to drive innovation and strengthen consumer confidence as we lead the premium TV market."

Certified models include the Neo QLED 8K (QN990F, QN950F), Neo QLED 4K (QN90F, QN85F, QN80F, QN70F), and QLED 4K (Q8F, Q7F, Q6F) series.

Quantum Dot Technology: Small Particles, Big Impact

Quantum Dots, microscopic nanomaterials thousands of times smaller than a strand of human hair, play a vital role in reproducing rich, precise colours by reacting to different wavelengths of light. Their integration into Samsung’s displays has been heralded as a key technological breakthrough, enhancing colour accuracy and image vibrancy in the competitive premium TV segment.

Samsung’s dedication to innovation extends beyond performance. The company’s Quantum Dot technology has also earned recognition from global testing organisation Société Générale de Surveillance (SGS) for its environmentally friendly, cadmium-free design — a crucial step in reducing the environmental and health risks associated with heavy metals in electronics.

Samsung QLED TVs Continue to Shape the Future of Visual Entertainment

Samsung’s latest accolade not only cements its leadership in television technology but also underscores the company’s broader vision to inspire the world through transformative ideas. With ongoing innovation in Quantum Dot displays, Samsung QLED TVs continue to redefine the standards of colour precision, environmental responsibility, and consumer trust in the premium TV market.
