South Korean technology giant Samsung is gearing up in big way to reclaim its top position in the Indian smartphone market. After launching the new Galaxy M series smartphones in the value-for-money segment in the country, Samsung is now set to launch a revamped Galaxy A series. In an exclusive interaction with
The Times of India-Gadgets Now, Ranjivjit Singh, senior vice president and head, mobile marketing, Samsung India said, “We will launch one smartphone every month in all price ranges starting from under Rs 10,000 in the new Galaxy A series.”
According to another Samsung India executive, this strategy is in line with what Samsung Mobile business global president DJ Koh had promised last year during his trip to India. “Our president had committed to bring the kind of innovation that you see in flagships in the mid-range segment in India. And are we are simply working on it this year,” added Singh.
It goes without saying that Samsung will aggressively price the upcoming Galaxy A series smartphones and Samsung promises to offer a very lucrative price-to-specs ratio for the consumers. As far as the pricing is concerned, the upcoming Galaxy A series phones would be priced anywhere between under Rs 10,000 and Rs 50,000.

Despite competing with Chinese rivals like Xiaomi, Realme, Oppo, Vivo, Honor and others on the price front, the South Korean technology giant is eyeing to make huge money from the Indian money as well. “We are looking at generating sales worth $4 billion in 2019 through the upcoming Galaxy A series smartphones from India,” said Singh.

Also, Samsung has a keen focus on the Android Go smartphones as well. While the company did not reveal any plans to launch another Android Go smartphone in India, it said that Samsung Galaxy J2 Core is one of its top 5 highest-selling smartphones in the country.

Samsung did not reveal much about the upcoming Galaxy A series smartphones. One of the first phones in the Galaxy A series would come with an Infinity-U notch display along with a triple-lens camera setup at the back and a display size of bit above 6-inches. The first Galaxy A series phone is expected to be launched in March.
