Antoine Semenyo delivered a standout performance as Manchester City dismantled Liverpool 4-0 to book their place in the FA Cup semi-finals.
The Ghana international played a key role in a dominant display at the Etihad, registering a goal and an assist in a match that underlined his growing influence since joining the club in January.
City took the lead in the 39th minute when Erling Haaland converted from the penalty spot after Virgil van Dijk fouled O’Reilly in the box. The Norwegian striker doubled the advantage deep into first-half stoppage time, heading home from a precise cross delivered by Semenyo to give the hosts a 2-0 lead at the break.
Semenyo then crowned his performance shortly after the restart, finding the net in the 50th minute to put the result beyond doubt. Haaland completed his hat-trick seven minutes later, sealing an emphatic victory for Pep Guardiola’s side.
The result confirms Liverpool’s exit from the FA Cup at the quarter-final stage, while City continue their pursuit of silverware.
Since his arrival from AFC Bournemouth, Semenyo has made an immediate impact, contributing eight goals and three assists. His performances have been widely credited with adding a new attacking dimension to City’s play during a crucial phase of the season.
For the 26-year-old, this latest display on a big stage further cements his status as one of Ghana’s most in-form players heading into the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
