The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has granted bail to popular dancehall artist Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., widely known as Shatta Wale, under strict conditions.
According to his media manager, Samuel Atuobi Baah, also known as Sammy Flex, the artist's legal and management teams are working diligently to meet the bail terms, which include a bond of GH₵10 million with two sureties.
“Before proceeding with the case, EOCO has set a bail of ten million Ghana cedis (GH₵ 10 million) with two sureties. I assure you, the dancehall king’s management and legal team are working tirelessly to resolve this,” he explained.
He also addressed widespread speculation surrounding the case, clarifying that the investigation relates specifically to taxes connected to Shatta Wale’s yellow Lamborghini and aspects of his business dealings.
Shatta Wale was taken into custody on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, as part of EOCO’s ongoing probe into potential tax non-compliance.
His team confirmed that the artist voluntarily presented himself at EOCO’s offices in Accra, accompanied by his lawyer, Cephas Biyuo, to assist with the investigation.
The case continues to draw public attention as fans await further updates on the legal proceedings.
