Akuapem rapper, Pope Skinny has claimed that self-acclaimed Dancehall king, Shatta Wale cannot talk about the success of his music career without giving him credit.

According to Pope Skinny, he has been very useful to Shatta Wale’s growth. “

Shatta Wale was taken really serious after I hosted him on my show years ago,” he said in an interview with Sokohemaa Kukuaa on Rainbow Radio on Wednesday.

““Shatta Wale was nominated for the VGMAs for the first time only after I hosted him on my popular radio show, Kasahari Levelz years ago. The interview shot him to greater heights. He gained recognition at the VGMAs for the first time after several failed attempts after that interview.”

He and Shatta Wale have been friends for a while and he has even featured in videos of the Dancehall artiste who won the Artiste of the Year at the 2014 edition of the Ghana Music Awards.

Shatta Wale has been a controversial figure in the music industry since he rebranded from Bandana but remains one of the most popular musician in the country whose every move makes news.
