Ghanaian "Dancehall champion" and multiple award winning musician Charls Nii Armah mensah AKA Shatta Wale has explained the motive behind giving a car to his yet-to-be lucky fan at the Shatta Movement Honours 2016.
The ‘Mahama Paper’ hit singer on Saturday, ahead of the New Year celebration, declared, on his Facebook official page, that he is going to honour one of his fans with a car for free, at musical concert to be held at Nungua.
The show dubbed "Shatta Movement Honours 2016" will also see some fans being honored with laptop mobile phones and many other prizes.
The "King" of Dancehall explains that the move is to " honour" and to show "appreciation and respect" he has for his fans.
"Tonite I feel so delighted to honour my fans what the never expected me to do at this time of my career", he said.
I will give out laptops and phones as well as the ultimate honour which will be my personal Toyata Cammry 2012 SE to show my appreciation and respect I have for you(my fans).
The choice of the car, according to the "dancehall king ", was made by his little baby boy, Majesty.
“Today as i was seeing #MAJESTY off to school ,He just touched my toyota camry and said Daddy why dont you rather give this to your best fan this year..i couldn’t say No …i have decided to and maybe i will do that …#ShattaHonours #champioooooooon“, Shatta said in early November.
The event will start at 7pm on New Year’s Eve at the Junction Mall, Nungua and will see back to back performances from several gospel musicians until the countdown to the New Year.
The mall will come alive with fantastic music performances from top artistes are Ghanaians prepare to usher in 2017.
Shatta Wale has also entreated all of his fans to make it to the venue to support the initiative, which happens to be the first of its kind-an artist or celebrity is dashing a car to his or her fan.
"Lets all meet at the Junction Mall(Nungua) to celebrate this day" Shatta Wale said.
