Ghanaian dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has issued a strong caution to young people, especially those from disadvantaged communities, urging them to avoid illegal activities and pursue legitimate means of earning a living, using his own career as an example.
In a recent Facebook post, the award-winning musician stressed the importance of making money lawfully, warning that involvement in illicit activities often ends badly.
“If you make money legally like Shatta Wale, don't fear to show others the way. But if not legally and it's illegal, be careful. Ghetto youth, if you play, they will wipe you out. Ade tell you!! #GODISHERE🩸,” he wrote.
His comments come at a time when social media has been rife with speculation linking him to alleged fraud-related cases, following the arrest of several individuals, including Kofi Boat, by the FBI and Ghana’s Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) over accusations of online fraud and romance scams.
Shatta Wale, popularly known as the Kakai hitmaker, has strongly denied any involvement in fraudulent activities, maintaining that his wealth and success are solely the result of his music career. He has repeatedly emphasised his commitment to hard work and producing quality music.
The artiste has also expressed frustration over what he describes as deliberate attempts to tarnish his image, suggesting that such accusations are driven by jealousy and misinformation.
Recently, Shatta Wale was granted bail in the sum of GH₵10 million with two sureties after being detained by EOCO in connection with a yellow Lamborghini Urus vehicle, a development that further fuelled public speculation.
