Ghanaian singer Sista Afia has addressed public concerns surrounding the appearance of a minor, Tracy Shay, on stage during her 10th Anniversary concert, stating that she neither invited nor approved the young performer’s participation.
In a statement released after the event, Sista Afia explained that she had no prior knowledge of how or when Tracy Shay got onto the stage.
She said her immediate focus is on reviewing the overall success of her decade-long music celebration and working with her management team to fully assess what transpired.
According to her, a more detailed response will be issued once that review process is completed.
She also expressed gratitude to fans and supporters for the massive turnout and goodwill shown during the anniversary concert, assuring the public that further updates would be provided in due course.
The issue has sparked widespread debate online, with many questioning whether it was appropriate for a minor to perform at a concert that was largely rated for adults.
Tracy Shay’s mentor, Wendy Shay, has also weighed in, expressing disappointment over the situation. She stated that she was not informed about her mentee’s appearance at the event and described parental interference as one of the major challenges in managing young talents.
Wendy Shay clarified that Tracy’s decision to go on stage was made by her parents, insisting that neither she nor Sista Afia was aware of it.
She called for calm as all parties work toward resolving the matter.
