Singer Sista Afia celebrated her 25th birthday on Thursday, November 8 but many social media users in Ghana had doubts about the singer's age with many saying she seemed older.

However, Afia, whose real name is Francesca Duncan Williams, did not take kindly to the doubts and jokes about her lying about her age. She has described her detractors as "dumb".

The singer in an interview with Zionfelix.net, indicated that she could not lie about her age seeing that there is very little sense in that. and not older.

She is quoted as saying: “… are you serious, why are people…that is the dumbest thing anybody will say…”.

Afia is a songwriter and music producer as well. She burst onto the Ghanaian scene about two years in a hit collaboration with Shatta Wale on the songe "Gye gye".

As with most artistes, she has had her fair share of scandals including very public feuds with other female entertainers including Efia Odo.

On the issue of her age, Sista Afia added that although she may look a little developed in physique, it is a problematic to confuse that with her age.

She added that there are many more people out there who do not look their age.
