A joint security task force has arrested six individuals in connection with the recent outbreak of communal violence in Nkwanta.
According to a statement issued by the Ghana Police Service and signed by DSP John Nchor, the arrests were carried out through intelligence-led operations aimed at restoring stability in the area.
Two suspects were picked up on March 29, 2026, while four others were apprehended on March 31, bringing the total number in custody to six.
All suspects are currently assisting investigators as authorities work to unravel the circumstances surrounding the violence.
Residents in Nkwanta and nearby communities have been urged to stay calm and support ongoing efforts by volunteering credible information to security agencies.
Authorities have also cautioned the public against spreading unverified claims or engaging in actions that could further inflame tensions, stressing the need for collective responsibility in maintaining peace.
