Nigerian singer John Njenga-Njeng, popularly known as Skales, has denied reports claiming he divorced his wife, Precious Hassanity, for mocking his music career.

The rumor, which originated from an X user identified as @Verity_HQ, alleged that Skales stated he ended his marriage because his wife joined online trolls to ridicule his career.

The viral post quoted him as saying he had no regrets over the decision, claiming a supportive wife would never mock her husband’s source of income.

However, Skales has firmly refuted the claim, labeling the report as false and malicious. He took to social media to denounce the fabricated quote, calling it "evil and unfair." The singer urged the blogger behind the post to stop spreading lies, emphasizing that he never made such a statement.

Skales and Precious Hassanity, a professional chef, tied the knot in September 2021.

Their marriage came under public scrutiny in late 2022 when the artist shared snippets of an unreleased track that appeared to take shots at his wife, using derogatory language.

The song’s lyrics suggested that Precious could have helped save his mother, Martina Aiyewa, who passed away weeks earlier, but allegedly failed to do so.

Amid the emotional turmoil following his mother’s death, Skales hinted at trouble in his marriage, posting on social media: “In all you do, make sure you don’t marry a heartless person.

Pray for my mental health.”
