Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide Newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako, has called the bluff of controversial Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, over his recent threat to expose some top Ghanaian journalists.

According to Mr. Baako, the outspoken financier of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) should go ahead and produce the so-called evidence of corruption he has agianst him and other top journalist instead of running his mouth on radio stations.

The tough talking Legislator who has transferred his anger from his turf war with the ace onto some senior journalists he claims are protecting him (Anas), has vowed to expose some media practitioners in the country and how they acquired certain properties through dubious means.

According to businessman, these five journalists he claims are “extremely corrupt” have acquired properties, mostly houses, through corrupt means but present themselves as holier-than-thou journalists.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen political talk show on Monday, 11 June, Mr Agyapong said: “No NPP member can stop me from exposing those evil and corrupt journalists that are parading all over the country that they are honest.

“Whenever those journalists sleep, they should ask themselves how they got the money to buy their houses.

“Who in Ghana can say on authority that he is not corrupt? There are five journalists that I will expose and Ghanaians will be shocked. They sit on radio and present themselves as honest people; they are very corrupt.”

Reacting to Mr. Agyapong's threat, Kweku Baako who was a guest on Peace FM indicated that for someone who has taken on an entire government before, the MP was a ‘small fry’ who is he afraid of because he is just “making ugly noises…hot air.”

Mr. Baako further challenged Ken Agyapong to shame the journalists including himself and stop blowing hot air.

I hear he says he’ll expose some five top journalists how they acquired their properties, he’s entitled to pursue that crusade to its logical conclusion. Not a single one of us, and me especially I’m not a coward and I don’t beg people to do me a favour because I’m wrong, it will not happen, it just will not happen, I’ve never done that before. If you say you have something against me, put it out there and let’s deal with it. Look, we’ve fought against the state before and and not individuals who just go out there making empty noise blowing hot air. I purged fear out of my system long ago, when we’re talking about serious things, you go round on radio making empty threats, fear is out of Kweku Baako’s system. Keep you focus, fight your battles and let’s keep going.”
