President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo yesterday surprised the country when he announced the name of the much awaited Special Prosecutor as Martin Amidu.
The office of the Special Prosecutor which was set up by the President is aimed fighting against corruption, particularly in the public sector of Ghana which has engulfed the country.
The name of the anti-corruption campaigner was announced as the Special Prosecutor in the midst of many names that came up when the office was set up.
The former Attorney General who is loved and hated by both the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for his outspoken and ruthless nature was received with excitement by the ordinary Ghanaian.
Mr Amidu’s name came as a pleasant surprise to many Ghanaian social media users who took to their various platforms to comment about the news.
