Ghanaian winger Solomon Asante played a key role in helping Las Vegas Lights FC earn a point in their 1-1 draw against Orange County SC during a USL Championship Round 1 match at Cashman Field on Sunday, October 6.

Orange County SC took the lead in the 16th minute when Christopher Hegardt scored a well-placed shot into the bottom left corner, assisted by Ethan Zubak.

Las Vegas Lights responded quickly, with Asante delivering a precise cross from the right side just ten minutes later. Khori Bennett rose to meet it with a powerful header, leveling the match at 1-1 in the 26th minute.

Despite dominating possession, with 65% of the ball and 12 shots, Las Vegas Lights were unable to find a breakthrough against a resilient Orange County defense.

Asante, whose assist was his fourth of the season in 28 appearances, was substituted in the 79th minute.

Las Vegas Lights FC will aim to capitalize on this performance as they prepare to face Birmingham Legion FC on October 13.
