Some senior players of Ghanaian giants, Accra Hearts of Oak SC are set to take action against the club for disgracing them publicly. According to checks by Ghanaian Freelance Journalist, the troubled players have requested the services of Law practitioner, John Kwame Quayson, Esq. concerning the matter.

The former Continental Club Masters have put out some names of players, indicating their services are no more needed at the Club. The list totals seven(7) players, including players with three years contracts but never had a minute’s game in the entire 2023/24 league season.

The list has Richard Attah, Kwadwo Osei Bonsu, Salim Adams, Issah Kuka, Dennis Korsah, Kofi Agbesimah, Enock Asubonteng, Leventius Arthur and Linda Mtange amongst others.

Some key players whose names are amongst the list have officially consulted their legal representative, Lawyer John Kwame Quayson to take on Hearts of Oak, mainly for disgracing them in public by unilaterally seeking to terminate their contracts with no just cause and without prior notice.

Lawyer John Kwame Quayson confirmed to Kolog Bonaventure of the players’ case and adding that the current attitude of Asante Kotoko SC and Accra Hearts of Oak is not the best in modern practice.

“You don't sign 15 or more players every season and sack around 17 to 23 after the end of season".

"That aside, there are processes and appropriate procedures one will have to go through before players contracts are terminated. I feel it’s inappropriate and something must be done about it to change this current trend.

"Publicly putting these players’ names out there could end their football career because no serious agent or club would want to engage the services of such players, and it’s bad. Most of our boys or players depend solely on football as their chosen career and if care is not taken by these big local clubs, dreams would be shuttered unnecessarily every year", he concluded.

Asante Kotoko SC two days after the end of 2023/24 campaign sacked 21 players before mutually parting ways with Richmond Lamptey and Steve Mukwala.

Danlad Ibrahim, Enoch Morrison, Rocky Dwamena and Sherif Mohammed all were shown the exit door.
